Plant and animal life
The main plant sorts that grow in the resort and make it so attractive are the different kinds of oak like nutgall, durmast, bitter oak, and the artificial plantations of white and black pine-trees. The cornel-tree is to be found too, mainly around the bay Karaagach there are territories afforestated with poplars. The mouth of Kitenska river is overgrown with reed, osier and on the sheer cliff to the South beach you may see virgin’s bower. Definite plants typical for the region Strandja may be found here. Their growing is dependent on the climatic influence of the sea tropic, these are plants like the shrubby subtropical plant Phillyrea media, the beautiful evergreen plant Rhododendron ponticum, also famous as rose-bay and other. The animal life on the territory of the forestry enterprise /town of Tzarevo/ is represented by red deer, roe deer, wild boar, hare, woodcock which are of first importance for the hunting tourism. Other widely distributed animals are squirrels, hedgehogs, different kinds of snakes, frogs, terrapins, stag-beetles, herring-gulls and other. The variety of animals in the sea and at the river mouth is rich either and is very important for the fishing as a sport and as a way of living of the native people

Especially significant is the belted bonito that is caught with fishing-nets and by trolling with lead-core line in the period between October and November, and the scad /the best selling fish. Other animal species met here are turbot /most expensive/, goby /about 30 kinds – ginger knout, round, black, sand gobies and other/, red mullet /surmullet/, grey mullet, blue-fish, black scorpionfish /in the last 3-4 years it has grown very much in number/, european seabass /kind of grey mullet/, vatos /sting ray - rare, delicacy/, Black Sea shark, weever /decreased in number/ dolphin. There are many kinds of crayfishes - paur /widely distributed/; shrimp; black clam periwinkle; sea otter and other.
